We have been working with authors involved in writing courses for our Portfolios for several years now. As a result, we are used to receiving content in a variety of formats, styles and extents.
As experts in converting content, we pride ourselves in our ability to manipulate and present the content we are provided with to create exciting and relevant online learning.
It is rare that I am surprised by what we receive to work with, but this morning I was. One of our authors, who has written one course for us before on Due Diligence in Mergers and Acquisitions for our Accounting and Finance Portfolio, has now agreed to write another course on How to Sell a Business.
Without any guidance on what we would ideally like, he sent me through an outline structure, with a list of learning outcomes and an indication as to whether each one represents a change in attitude, skills and knowledge (ASK).
This is exactly how we would structure a course outline, dividing the learning outcomes into the relevant ASK categories to enable us to map the content effectively across the course.
It seems that this author enjoys what we did with his first course, and has taken on board how we work through the learning process!
